Getting out to a farm in franklin in November.  Yes, great weather and timing for a family shoot.  Brought the dogs out too so it was even more special.  I was able to get some amazing images and am in the process of going through the bulk of them.  Squeezed out a quick edit on one so to make the cut for their Christmas card.  I need to take some shot of that for the blog.  Getting the rest of the images worked on so Lauren can fill those frames she already has hanging in their home!

those that have issues or concerns with pit bulls, you need to meet Ginger.  she is a bull and anywhere she goes is her china shop but her heart is a big as her tongue is long :)

Like many fortunate families Heather and I were able to have family in town and around for the long weekend.  It, of course, provided its challenges with getting food prepared and people happy.  Keeping things neat and clean – for me!  It was nice in the end and during.  We are lucky to have great family and the ability to have the food on our table.  Thank you to those that keep us safe day in/out.  What you do means more than many will ever know!  Those that do, thank you with all we have…

Heather and I got bikes a week ago today.  I feel like a kid again and im ready to take on the world – two wheels at a time.  Riding this bike is so freeing…did research and found a great dual sport bike from Trek that gives me a taste of both street and off-street.  I take Ellie out to the bathroom on it, i ride around while she does her thing then we race up and down the street.

So today’s lesson is – GO OUT AND GET A BIKE!

These bands were great!  Down at the Loveless Cafe they have the Music City Roots shows.  There were about 5 bands there this night a wednesday (and yes, school) night.  But we made it out, just down the street and had a great time.  Lots and lots of people were onto it and there early!  Check it out…dont know the name of the groups but they were fun…

and a little clarification, i titled the last image on this post ‘enchantment under the sea dance’ b/c and all of you in my generation will remember ____________, yes Back to the Future.  This band gave me the vibe of the bands performing on stage and in that era!  60′s – they had amazing sound too!

It was an amazing day for these two and their families.  It was the beginning of the summer and it was hot hot.  They gave me the creative freedom i needed and it made for some amazing images.  I just posted a preview for Daniel and Kristina but I cannot wait to go through the rest of the images because there are some of the best ones to come…

Holy Hiking

Gatlinburg, TN – home of the Smokey Mountains.  I attended college a short jaunt away in Knoxville and did get to experience the majestic area.  It has been over 10 years since then and felt like a kid again being in the area.  This time armed with my canon and girlfriend we met up with a photography club for a ‘fun’ hike.  So i thought.  This was by far the hardest thing I have ever done and it was only 4 miles (each way). Almost all of it was uphill and rocky and roots everywhere.  I dont know why i thougt i would be able to knock it out so easy, im not 20 anymore…the reward, other than a sense of acomplishment was an amazing waterfall.  Got up close and personal with it, even taking some shots of the water coming right down on me and sampling the moutain water.

Got to eat at some diverse places, which included a biker bar, coffee shop, smokey mountiain brewery (which is a brewhouse and i sampled each beer) and Cherokee Grill.  Like the mountain light pretty well!  Weather was amazing and the drive so nice…now get out an exercise!
