Cookies & Crumbs: A Light Test with Store-Bought Sweetness

There’s something timeless about chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk — and that’s exactly what inspired this shoot.

This wasn’t a client project, but a quick light test using cheap grocery store cookies. I wanted to experiment with simple styling, playful color contrast, and a clean setup to push creative composition — all while keeping the mood light and nostalgic.
Even though these cookies were just $3 from the store, I approached them the same way I would a premium bakery product. The warm cookie tones against the cool blue background made for a delicious contrast that pops, especially in close-up shots or stacked compositions.
I’m always using small test shoots like this to stay sharp and develop new ideas for client work — especially for Toronto bakeries, cafés, and restaurants that need eye-catching visuals for social media or delivery platforms like Uber Eats and DoorDash.
If you’re a food business in Toronto looking to upgrade your content with high-quality, mouthwatering imagery, let’s work together.
